Local ‘Idols’ make the top 10

2009-03-03 00:00

The public has spoken — both of our former Howick High hopefuls made the top 10 of Idols.

Pixie Bennett and Jason Hartman have made it through to the next round of the M-Net show. Results were announced live last night at 7 pm.

Although both contestants were on shaky ground in the eyes of the judges, both have managed stay in the game based solely on the public’s vote.

As of this week, only one contestant will leave the show weekly until the final decision is made as to who out-sang, outshone and out-staged in this year’s competition.

The 26-year-old songstress, however, will have to up her game this Sunday seeing that last night Jason featured in the top half and Pixie in the bottom.

Nevertheless, now that they have made it to this point, each of them will receive an Aspire One Notebook from Acer, a R2 500 fashion voucher from Truworths, a Shure SM58 microphone, an MP4 player and docking station from JNC, and other great prizes from Cardies and Phree Edge.

What’s more, both are one step closer to winning a recording contract from Sony, and the title of overall winner of Idols Season 5.

Catch Idols this Sunday on M-Net at 5 pm.
