Local deejays invited to do battle

2011-06-16 00:00

DO you think you have what it takes to make people dance? Have you ever dreamt of being a headlining deejay with thousands of screaming fans?

Well, Fanotainment Productions want to give you that chance today.

Top South African muso DJ Christos will be the main attraction at Pietermaritzburg’s Ultimate Deejay Battle taking place at Westmore Park in Mayor’s Walk.

Fano Gumede, the CEO of Fanotainment, said he is targeting local deejays only.

“I have such pride when it comes to the local deejays.

“I am a local deejay myself and I know the talent our city has. I have invited DJ Christos to be the guest judge for round one of the contest.

“We are looking for someone, male or female, who has that individual style and who can make people dance.”

Gumede said he has many surprises in store for those deejays who impress the judges in future rounds of the competition.

Entry forms for the contest are available from Jet Music in Timber Street.

There will be a registration fee of R50 per deejay and entries are limited, so register early. Fans pay R50 at the door before 11 pm and R70 thereafter.
