Local man for world debate

2013-08-08 00:00

A PIETERMARITZBURG man is one of three KwaZulu-Natal residents who have been chosen to attend a prestigious leadership event.

Ndudzo Msibi (23) has been selected to attend the One Young World Summit in Johannesburg in October.

This international summit brings together the best young leaders from around the world with older leaders to debate, discuss and formulate solutions for world issues.

It is also a wonderful networking platform for promising leaders to get ahead in their future endeavours.

Msibi was selected because of his commitment as chairperson of the Black Management Forum (BMF) student chapter in KwaZulu-Natal. He is currently doing his masters in Maritime Commerce, while working in the graduate programme at FNB in Durban.

The Pietermaritzburg man has worked hard to make it to the summit and has some big issues to debate regarding the state of the African continent.

“Africa has not been very vocal on its own issues. The rest of the world is trying to fix the problems of our continent when we should be doing it ourselves. This is what I want to bring up at the summit.”

Entrepreneurship is the path that Msibi has chosen for his future.

He is also working on a book that he hopes to get published upon completion.

“The working title of the book is Questions and Questions. It is my take on what is happening in the world.”

He needs €3250 (R48 000) to attend the summit. He had already raised R28 000, but needs to raise the rest of the fee to be able to attend the event.
