M-NET opens auditions to cast next contestants for ‘Survivor South Africa’

2010-08-07 00:00

M-NET and Survivor South Africa series producer, Endemol SA, are hunting for contestants for the next season of the hit reality series, which will unfold in the exotic Maldives.

Open castings will be taking place in Cape Town, Durban and Johannesburg.

Pierre Cloete, M-Net’s channel head, believes this is a fair and sure-fire method to find the best possible castaways for the series.

“By doing open auditions straight away, instead of asking people to send in paper or online entries, thousands more people will get the opportunity to see the Survivor selectors face to face,” he added.

“It’s often difficult to express a colourful or tenacious personality on paper and we don’t want any great candidates to fall through the cracks.”

Entries are open for South African citizens over the age of 21. Candidates must be good swimmers and be both mentally and physically fit.

They also have to bring a valid passport to register at the open castings.

Potential contestants, who want to play for the R1 million prize money, need to get the Sahara Cricket Stadium Kingsmead, 2 Kingsmead Way, off Masabalala Yengwe Avenue, Durban, on August 28.

The auditions will get underway at 9 am and will be on a first-come-first served basis.
