M19/N2 Umgeni interchange planned closure

2014-07-01 00:00

THE eThekwini Municipality yesterday urged motorists who plan on using the M19/N2 Umgeni interchange today and tomorrow to use alternative routes ahead of a planned road closure.

Construction of the N2/Umgeni Road Interchange is currently under way and the contractor will close lanes on the M19 at the Western traffic light of the interchange (the N2 north to M19 and M19 to Inanda Road, Service Road) for construction works on the overhead pedestrian bridge.

The contractor will be closing one lane at a time on the M19E and then one lane at a time on the M19W to ensure traffic movement at all times.

The lanes will be closed between the following times:

• 10 pm today to 4 am tomorrow.

• 10 pm on Wednesday, July 2 to 4 am on Thursday, July 3.

Residents and motorists are urged to be cautious, use alternative routes and plan their trips ahead of time.
