MACS events for September

MACS Café Gallery Exhibition: the exhibition during August will be “Glimpses from my Life” by Jean Elworthy, an oils and watercolour artist from the Winterton area and a member of Jinny Heath's regular MACS Tuesday Painters group. The exhibition will be opened by Jinny Heath on Wednesday (September 3) 2008 at 5.30pm for 6pm. All are welcome. RSVP to Jean at 036 488 1335 or 082 961 9417.

MACS 3D Gallery Exhibition: “Treasures & Trifles” will be on exhibition and for sale in the 3D Gallery. What may be your “trifle” may be another person’s “treasure” – it is sure to be worth browsing as new items being added.

Mondays: 1st, 8th, 15th, 22nd and 29th September (9am-12noon)

Tuesdays: 16th September (10am-12noon)

Tuesday Painters at MACS with Jinny Heath. For painters (and draughtsmen) of some experience who would like a forum in which to show and discuss their most recent work or work-in-progress with like-minded people. Limited number of students can be accommodated. R65 MACS members and R75 non-MACS members per session. (This will be a monthly forum to be held again on 21st October and 18th November). Bookings essential for this course - please book early if you want to take part by phoning 033 386 6500.

Wednesdays: 3rd, 10th and 17th September (24th is a public holiday) (9am-12noon)

MACS Wednesday Art Club – an interactive group. Work in medium and level of choice. All welcome. R25 per session. Phone 033 386 6500.

Thursdays: 4th, 11th, 18th and 25th September (9am-12noon)

Creative Thursdays – creative as ever the "theme" is accessories, e.g. hats, helmets, shields, ball & chains, ear muffs, you name it! Technique for the month is PIN WEAVING. Whatsat? Come & find out! R340 MACS members and R395 non-MACS members for 4 sessions, R120 for 1 session. Please book by phoning 033 386 6500.

Saturdays: Wild Knitting - 6th and 20th September (9am-12noon)

It’s not nearly as “wild” as you might think. Join in and knit whichever way you like, check out all our gorgeous yarns, and feel better about practically anything by the end of the morning. Bring some yarn & needles, crochet if you like. There is no formal tuition, but free advice is given to all by all! Beginners and rusty knitters welcome. R25 per session includes tea/coffee.
