THE MEC for Transport, Community Safety and Liaison, Willies Mchunu, has expressed sorrow at the deaths of seven KwaZulu-Natal citizens including two employees of the provincial Department of Transport in an accident at Piet Retief, Mpumalanga province, on Saturday.

Five of the dead were family members and relatives of the late employee of the department, Zakhele Madonsela (61), with his wife, Gambu Madonsela (49), their daughter, Simangele Madonsela (27), their step-daughter, Xolisile Nkosi, and nephew, Mthobisi Buthelezi.
