THE Pietermaritzburg man who is alleged to have stabbed a woman, Sindiswa Mshengu (27), to death at the Liberty Midlands Mall on Monday remains in hospital in a critical condition.

Police spokesperson Captain Thulani Zwane said the man will appear in court once he has recovered.

“The suspect is in a critical condition. He will appear in court as soon as he gets better.”

Mshengu, a parking attendant at the mall, was stabbed in the neck twice and died at the scene.

The suspect allegedly tried to kill himself by throwing himself over the Armitage Road Bridge onto the N3 near the mall. He survived and was transported to hospital under police guard.
