Man held up by fake cops wanting cash

MARGATE police arrested a man for selling liquor without a licence in Masinenge Informal Settlement during a raid on Saturday.

However after paying a R500 fine at the Margate police station and returning home in the early hours of the morning, Siphamandla Siyoyo was robbed by a fake cop.

While opening a case of business robbery Siyoyo told the Margate police that two people, one wearing a police uniform, arrived at his house.

They ordered him to cover his face before they took R2 500. The case is being investigated and no arrests have been made so far.
