Man knifes brothers

IN a bizarre and tragic series of events, a man was stabbed and killed after he had refused to give a friend of his a sip of his beer.

The incident occurred on Saturday night near Mbambi High School in Nkampini location when brothers Mandla and Khonana Sithole were approached by a friend of theirs who asked them for some beer.

When the brothers turned him down, the suspect stabbed them both with a long knife.

“Mandla was unfortunately fatally wounded while his brother sustained serious head injuries,” said a spokesperson for the SA Police Force in Margate, Sergeant Pumzile Makaula.

She said the suspect had met the two brothers and another friend near Mbambi High School when he saw them carrying alcohol.

“He asked them for some beer and they refused.

“He then stabbed them. The friend of the brothers managed to escape without any injuries.”

The suspect was injured during the struggle.

“He is in the hospital under police guard,” said Makaula.

She confirmed that all four people involved in the incident had been under the influence of alcohol.
