Masinga backs Kermit

2014-09-26 00:00

JOHANNESBURG — Former Bafana Bafana striker Phil Masinga has backed the inclusion of in-form Orlando Pirates striker Kermit Erasmus.

Erasmus (24) has netted 10 goals this season already for the Sea Robbers and missed out on the opportunity to represent Bafana in their last two Afcon qualifying games against Sudan (3-0) in Khartoum and Nigeria (0-0) in Cape Town.

According to KickOff, Masinga believes there is no better time for Erasmus’s call-up to the national team.

“I’m happy that he has been included in the squad,” said Masinga, who made over 50 appearances for SA between 1992 and 2001.
