Midlands school grabs swift victory

2013-11-12 00:00

WHAT was meant to be a good weekend of competitive schoolboy cricket was ruined by the weather as a number of games were rained out, including undefeated Westville Boys’ High School’s visit to Maritzburg College.

Michaelhouse vs Northwood

The only game that took place was in Balgowan, where Michaelhouse defeated Northwood High School by eight wickets.

KZN Inland Under-19 star, Michaelhouse’s Luke Stevens, continued his good form, chipping in with bowling figures of 3-16 as the Midlands side restricted Northwood to 102 all out. Nick Glassock was another who impressed with the ball, bagging three wickets in his spell.

Michaelhouse’s response as they chased the victory target was swift and precise, as they put together 106 for the loss of two wickets.

The star of the Michaelhouse innings was Dale Beckley, who reached a deserved half century, scoring 52.
