Missing cop mystery

2008-01-29 00:00

QUESTIONS have been left unanswered as to why the police have not done anything regarding a policeman who has been missing for more than a year.

Yesterday, south coast police requested publication of the details of a police sergeant who has been missing since October 31, 2006.

Police say that Mandlenkosi Henry Dlamini (pictured) who was stationed at the Bulwer Police Station near Ixopo, was last seen in Durban.

Police spokeswoman Zandra Hechter said Dlamini was wearing brown corduroy trousers, a white, long-sleeve T-shirt with Vodacom printed on it, brown sandals and a black leather jacket at the time of his disappearance. “He is 1,80 metres tall, about 75 kg, clean shaven with a short mustache and of slight build,” she said.

She said all attempts are being made to find Dlamini, but could not clarify why this is being done more than 14 months after he went missing.

The police are appealing to anyone who may have any information that may assist in the investigation to contact the investigating officer, Captain Ian Rennie, on 039 688 2300 or

083 973 8411.
