Modern-day explorer Holgate takes readers on a journey

2012-04-16 00:00

CONSIDERED one of Africa’s most colourful modern day explorers, Kingsley Holgate, is an author, TV personality and fellow of the Royal Geographical Society and is arguably the most travelled man in Africa.

Now Witness readers have the opportunity to meet this larger-than-life character.

Just back from the Great Rift Valley in east Africa, Holgate and his team have completed successful humanitarian expeditions to all but five of the 47 countries that make up the continent of Africa.

In Africa, over a million people, mostly woman and children die each year from malaria.

Don’t miss this opportunity to hear about his current epic adventure challenge, taking much-needed malaria medication into the Great Rift Valley, from its northernmost point in Djibouti on the Horn of Africa through Ethiopia, Kenya, Tanzania, Uganda, Rwanda, Burundi, the Democratic Republic of Congo and Malawi, to its southernmost point near Gorongoza in Mozambique.

Limited seats at R125, including tea and lunch, are available.

There is a 10% discount for tables of 10.
