Moment of truth for PMB dancing star

2010-09-04 00:00

IT’S crunch time on SABC1’s So You Think You Can Dance as the dancers prepare for the first elimination round tonight.

Tonight’s show will see the dancers, including Pietermaritzburg’s Bonwa Mbontsi and Kai Pretorius and Snenhlanhla Mbatha of Durban, dancing in couples. They will be drawing a dance genre out of a hat and then working with a choreographer in a bid to knock the socks off the audience and judges. The styles they’ll be attempting include the foxtrot, fast hip-hop, kwaito, samba, lyrical contemporary, pantsula, krump and jazz.

So You Think You Can Dance airs from 6.30 pm to 7.30 pm.

Voting lines open immediately after the live show and close at 8.30 pm tonight. The SMS voting line is 42282 and voting is limited to 20 votes per mobile phone per week.

The three couples receiving the least amount of votes will have to dance individually for their lives in front of judges Harold van Buuren, Didi Moses and David Matamela, who will then select one guy and one girl to leave the show.

Watch the results show on Wednesday, September 8, at 7 pm to find out which hopefuls will be the first to go home.
