Motaung confident of Chiefs win

JOHANNESBURG — Kaizer Chiefs marketing director Jessica Motaung insists it will be the Amakhosi in the Vodacom Challenge final against Tottenham Hotspur next week and not fierce rivals Orlando Pirates.

Speaking at Emperor’s Palace, Motaung added that the club will not only be in the final, but they will beat their English Premier League counterparts.

Motaung said: “Pirates must forget about playing Tottenham Hotspur in the final because it will be Chiefs in the final. We are going to win this tournament to restore the pride of South Africa.”

And speaking to the club’s official website, Motaung said: “The trophy has to remain at our village in Naturena.

“We are looking forward to the game against Tottenham Hotspur at Peter Mokaba Stadium on Saturday.

“On Saturday the team will also be wearing our new jersey for the first time in a game so we are definitely looking forward to it.

“People argue that we have not beaten Spurs, but we have a good record in this competition, having beaten both Manchester United and Manchester City when we won the trophy back in 2009.”
