Murder: man hacks friend to death

2011-11-02 00:00

A GAMALAKHE man appeared in the Port Shepstone Magistrate’s Court last week after hacking his friend to death with a bushknife.

According to a witness, Bernard Siyocola (42) and the victim, David Mgojo (55), were socialising and were under the influence of alcohol when the incident occurred.

The witness said Siyocola had told her that he wanted to kill Mgojo.

It is alleged that Siyocola said this while sharpening his bushknife.

However, Mgojo then appeared, and the two of them (Mgojo and Siyocola) went into another room and continued to consume alcohol and “dance to some music”.

The witness was then awakened at 1 am by the accused who said he had killed Mgojo.

Siyocola then fled to Flagstaff and was arrested in the area this month.
