Murdered child: R50 000 reward offered for tips

A REWARD is being offered as police hunt for the murderer of nine-year-old Nombuso Nhlangulela from Howick.

Police are offering up to R50 000 for information that may lead to the arrest and conviction of her killer.

Little Nombuso’s body was found tied to a tree in the bushes behind a Pick n Pay supermarket last Monday. A postmortem examination revealed that she had been sexually molested and that she died due to suffocation. Her head was covered with a plastic bag and her school sock was shoved inside her mouth, which was bound with a lace curtain.

Police spokesman Senior Superintendent Henry Budhram said several people have been questioned, but no one has been arrested and information received did not prove fruitful. “We appeal to the public to assist the police in the investigation,” he said.
