Muscle sense: Bodybuilding pair promotes supplements in the city

2009-09-29 00:00

IF you see this mountain of a man, do not fear, because he is actually a gentle soul, says Marriann Breitenbach of her boyfriend John Leslie, an award-winning body builder.

Breitenbach and Leslie were in Pietermaritzburg yesterday promoting vitamin supplements. She describes him as a good-natured person who does not engage in violence and only does body building as a sport.

“I am his girlfriend and I do not worry about any form of violence, but if he were ever to try anything, it will be a huge fight because I am also a body builder,” she says.

Leslie (27) has collected a number of awards in bodybuilding competitions around the country. He says his strong mountain-like physique is due to hard work, healthy eating, sober habits and a disciplined lifestyle.

He exercises twice a day, in the morning and in the afternoon.

Leslie says he had to give up drinking and hard partying. And because of his hard work and discipline, he has grown from strength to strength, not only in terms of his physique, but also in competitions.

He says he does not participate in the sport to threaten all the skinny guys. “When I walk down the street people tend to stare. Some are impressed and some are disgusted and that is just the way it is.”

He also has a message for all the skinny guys who want to pick up muscles and those who want to lose fat.

“Get to your nutrients shop and ask them about the right types of vitamins to use, join the gym and ask for good advice."
