Musho Festival begins in Durban

2008-01-03 00:00

Theatre-lovers, don’t despair. The New Year may see theatres darkening as the festive season shows end their runs, but remember that the Musho Festival of one- and two-person theatre, now a fixture on the local theatre calendar, starts today and runs until January 13 at the Kwasuka and Catalina Theatres in Durban.

The Performing Arts Network of South Africa (Pansa) in KwaZulu-Natal hosts the festival which covers mime to physical theatre and drama to comedy. Shows on the main festival have two performances each, while those on the Fringe have one. As well as a wide line-up of South African performers, led by Andrew Buckland, there are three international productions: from Mozambique, Israel and the Netherlands.

For more information, contact the Catalina Theatre at 031 305 6889 or Pansa office at kzn@pansa.org.za or 031 309 5838.

To book tickets to performances at either venue, phone Thandeka at the Catalina at 031 305 6889.

The full programme is available at www.mushofestival.co.za Tickets can be bought online at www.stricklytickets.co.za or alternatively at www.goingplacessa.co.za
