Music: warming you this winter

2008-07-17 00:00

WINTER has turned chilly, but this weekend Music Revival is offering to warm you up with their Winter Warmers event.

Christopher Duigan has put together a programme of music with a broad, fresh appeal. This annual winter concert offers an experience with a selection of fun repertoire, some unusual explorations, unexpected surprises and some firm favourites. He will perform this programme in his home studio in a warm and inviting atmosphere. The music includes pieces by Cecile Chaminade (1857-1944) and contemporary New Age composers Suzanne Ciani and Yann Tiersen.

There will be concerts on Friday and Saturday evenings at 7.30 pm and on Sunday afternoon at 3.30 pm. Enjoy soup on Saturday evening or bring a dinner or lunch on Friday and Sunday. For all performances, bring a bottle of wine and book a table of four or more to enjoy with friends. Smaller bookings will be accommodated at separate tables where possible or will join the party tables.

Tickets are R80 on Friday and Sunday and R120 on Saturday — this includes soup and breads plus dessert. Booking is essential. To book, e-mail booking@musicrevival.co.za or phone 033 342 3051.
