Musona heading for the Bundesliga

2011-07-02 00:00

JOHANNESBURG — Kaizer Chiefs striker Knowledge Musona is confident of success in Germany as he awaits a potential transfer to Bundesliga side TSG 1899 Hoffenheim.

The Zimbabwean forward is awaiting a visa before being allowed to travel to Germany, where he will undergo a trial at the club.

He is, however, acting on the side of caution amid reports of interest from Scottish side Celtic, although Amakhosi manager Bobby Motaung says the odds of the talented 21-year-old joining Hoffenheim are high.

Musona said: “I don’t think I can fail, but let’s wait and see how things go in the next week when I travel to Germany.”

Motaung said the chances of Musona leaving are very high, “but then again if the opportunity arises for a player we won’t stand in his way. We have also received a letter from Scottish team Glasgow Celtic expressing their wish to have a look at the player.”

Recent reports suggest that the trials are merely a formality and that Musona will sign a contract once in Germany.

Musona’s soon-to-be former striking partner, Kaizer Motaung Junior, has meanwhile revealed that he feels the club will be just fine without their star frontman.

He said, “Knowledge is a great asset ... he is extremely talented, but if he does go I wish him all the best”, adding “someone else will do the job.” — Football365.co.za.
