N3: closure on Saturday

2012-10-02 00:00

THE northbound carriageway of the N3 will be closed from 7 am to 5 pm on Saturday for the erection of a signage gantry for the new Chota Motala bridge.

The carriageway will be closed at the Alan Paton/N3 split.

“Light motor vehicles will be detoured along Alan Paton Avenue (R103) via the city. Traffic can get back onto the N3 at the Hyslop Road split, on to the Chatterton roundabout and back onto N3,” said Chris Govender, safety manager of the Chota Motala Interchange N3 upgrade project.

“The detour will be clearly marked and flagmen will be placed at regular intervals along the detour.

“Trucks will be stacked and taken off at the Ohrtmann Road offramp into Willowton Road, left into Church Street, then right onto N3.”

He warned that delays could be expected.
