NEW-look outlet OPENS IN CBD

2011-05-06 00:00

ANOTHER restaurant chain has tapped into the growing CBD office market.

Nando’s has opened a new restaurant in the upper CBD, at 257 Church Street near the old Pietermaritzburg Mall. The restaurant, with new-look décor, represents a multi-million rand investment.

Eager to capitalise on the lucrative government office base and clients in the legal fraternity, the restaurant is close to a variety of key offices and institutions, including City Hall, Capital Towers and Treasury House. The high foot-count level in the area is an added advantage.

The launch comes just months after the opening of a new McDonalds restaurant at 285 Church Street.

Pradeep Gareeb, area manager for Pietermaritzburg, told The Witness the restaurant is the sixth Nando’s restaurant in the city.

Gareeb said the venue covers about 300 square metres and caters for up to 80 patrons. It has a staff of 27.

“Nando’s has improved the speed of service,” he said.

“We have an exclusive design with facilities for the comfort of our customers.

“We have already received positive customer feedback.”
