NFP welcomes councillors from DA

2011-03-18 00:00

THE newly formed National Freedom Party welcomed four new councillors who have crossed over from the Democratic Alliance (DA) and who will run in the upcoming local government elections in the Umdoni municipality.

The party’s spokesperson on the South Coast, Freeman Maphumulo said the welcoming meeting, which was held at the Total Education Centre, was very important in showing the party’s intentions.

“We want to erase the perception that it is only former IFP members who are crossing over to join us,” he said.

“Today we welcome our four councillors who have joined us from the DA.”

It will also be the first party, other than the African National Congress, to have candidates running in all 82 wards within the Ugu District Municipality.
