Nene and Lloyd in top four

2010-10-13 00:00

DURBAN’S Sindi Nene, who was saved by the Idols judges last week, is now the only woman left in the top four.

She will sing it out with Elvis Blue, Boki Ntsime and Lloyd Cele, also from Durban, next week.

After Nene was saved last week, two people had to leave the show last night, and it was blonde model Adeline Mocke of Cape Town and Free State accountant Pieter West who reached the end of the road.

On Sunday, judge Gareth Cliff told Mocke that she had reached a ceiling in the competition, while telling West it was to his credit that he got as far as he did.

At the media conference after last night’s show, both singers said they are satisfied with how they did.

“For someone who was hoping to just get one ‘yes’ at the audition, I think I did pretty well,” said West.

He added that he wasn’t surprised by the result. “You get a feeling that you are ‘ripe’ to go,” he said.

Mocke said she still plans to have a career as a singer, but is not certain how to go about it. “Being a model was always my back-up plan. Singing was my first love.

“Every step on Idols was a big surprise. My biggest dream was just to sing once on that big stage. I’m so privileged to have come so far in Idols.”
