Northwood unbeaten in six games

2011-04-16 00:00

THE first Saturday of the second term — with most independent schools still on holiday — has just two hockey matches in progress today.

Maritzburg College will be hosting Pretoria Boys’ High in the first of their two fixtures this season, with Westville having the advantage of playing at home against Northwood. The four teams involved have already had a number of fixtures.

College have played nine matches to date — without being beaten — notching up eight victories and one draw against Grey College. Boys’ High have played three schools that College played in Port Elizabeth and here College beat all three, Wynberg, Jeppe and Selborne. Their visitors lost against Wynberg and Selborne, with a draw against Jeppe. At this stage of the season it appears as if College will hold their place as the top KZN side.

Northwood returned from the Founders Festival at Dale unbeaten in their sixmatches. Earlier they lost against Hilton. Westville have just played the two games — both of which they lost against Glenwood and Michaelhouse — making Northwood the favourites this morning.
