Ntini to play in West Indies

2012-06-19 00:00

CAPE TOWN — Former Proteas fast bowler Makhaya Ntini will play in the T20 Jamaica 50 Classic later this year.

The Sportlive website said the competition, which will mark Jamaica’s celebration of 50 years of independence, will be played across two days in August at Sabina Park.

“We are very pleased to announce that Mahkaya has confirmed his participation in the T20 Jamaica 50 Classic,” the Jamaica Gleaner quoted tournament co-organiser Paul Campbell saying. This was evidence “that we intend to … make this event the best of its kind”.

Ntini (34) took 662 wickets in an international career that spanned 13 years before retiring in 2011.
