2013-07-17 00:00

A 72-YEAR-OLD man is due to apply for bail at the Pietermaritzburg Magistrate’s Court today after being arrested on the charge of raping his 16-year-old daughter.

The state is opposed to the elderly S’nathing man being released on bail.

It is alleged that he raped the child more than once.

The old man kept his gaze down as he appeared in court yesterday.

Recently, a Pietermaritzburg man was sentenced to 20 years in jail for the rape of his 13-year-old daughter.

The mother and her two daughters moved to another province after she walked in on her husband about to rape the teenager in March.

When arrested, the man admitted he had raped his daughter between last December and March 4.

In March, a Dambuza father was accused of raping his six-year-old daughter.

Also in March, a 32-year-old man from Clarendon was charged for allegedly having oral sex with his seven-year-old son.
