One-man comedy show ‘Monkey Nuts’

2010-01-19 00:00

GERALDINE Naidoo’s comedy, Monkey Nuts, was without a doubt one of the funniest shows I saw in 2009 and I highly recommend you book yourself a seat to see this one-man show at the Hilton College Theatre on January 28 and 29.

Money Nuts, which follows in the successful footsteps of Naidoo’s other comedies, The Chilli Boy and Hoot, is her latest collaboration with actor Matthew Ribnick. In it he portrays a series of unforgettable characters which will have you in stitches.

The show tells the story of Edgar Chambers, a bank teller by profession, who has the knack of sniffing out free “stuff” and special offers, and whose main hobby is monitoring the prices of grocery items in various stores. He’s so skilled at this that he can tell you the price of any grocery item, anywhere, at any time.

Edgar is also obsessed with entering competitions and it’s this aspect of his life which sparks off the comedy in Monkey Nuts. Don’t miss it.

Monkey Nuts is at the Hilton College Theatre at 7.30 pm on January 28 and 29. Tickets are R75 and can be booked at 033 383 0126 or by e-mail at tickets@hiltoncollege.com
