One-stop steel shop now sells direct

2009-09-30 00:00

ALT-X-listed BSi Steel has re-launched its new-look cash sales division, based at its headquarters in Mkondeni.

BSi Steel’s KZN chief executive, Lee Daff, told The Witness that the 4 600 m2 warehouse boasts a wide range of products.

He said they plan to focus more intensively on the Pietermaritzburg market.

“We have not always been as cash friendly as we would have liked to be. We’re now getting involved in a lot of new products. We’re going as direct to the public as we possibly can. Customers will obviously benefit from our massive buying power,” explained Daff.

BSi Steel, a stockist, processor, trader and exporter of steel products, listed on the JSE’s Alt-X late in October 2007.

The company recently set up a processing and distribution depot in Gauteng and has already ventured into Africa in order to benefit from opportunities in the mining sector.

Daff described the warehouse as a one-stop shop that will regain market share in the local trade.

He said they will offer an array of products aimed at the domestic market, including products for DIY, security and décor.

“The warehouse is easily accessible and will have a customer-centric focus. We also have a specific vehicle customised for deliveries for easy loading purposes.”

The division will be headed by Donovan Jacoby.
