PMB in court after taking wife flowers, then shooting her

2010-04-09 00:00

PIETERMARITZBURG man Emmanuel Sydney Donnelly (34) appeared briefly in the magistrate’s court yesterday in connection with the murder of his wife, Tania (30), who was shot at work at the electricity department on Tuesday.

Donnelly faces charges of murder, unlawful possession of a firearm and ammunition, pointing a firearm at security guard Skhumbuzo Fakude, and theft of a firearm from Johnson Ndabezitha.

The case was postponed until May 4 so that Donnelly can apply for legal aid. The state is set to oppose bail.

Tania Donnelly was fatally wounded after her husband was seen arriving with a bouquet of flowers. He was arrested shortly afterwards.
