PMB men’s dirty secrets

2014-12-15 00:00

A WEDDING band on your finger does not keep you safe from a cheating spouse and STDs.

This is from a Pietermaritzburg woman, who has lifted the lid on successful businessmen using her for more than the “cleaning services” as advertised.

The middle-class woman, whose identity is known to The Witness, revealed her story of how she turned to prostitution, the man who “pimped” her and the married men who were her clients. “I never intended to do this. I had just resigned from a job and put an ad on Gumtree when a man contacted me and offered me a job,” said the well-groomed woman, who lost her husband some years back and has children to support.

She was in dire financial straits and needed to earn money quickly to cover the rent for her home. “I was desperate.”

The man, Kevin Dale-Green, runs a Facebook page called “All Natural Cleaning Services”, that advertises women, and men, to “clean in their lingerie”.

But he never intended it to be more than a cleaning service, at most a massage, he said (SEE TEXTBOX).

“The man who contacted me said he would set me up with a few of his clients and negotiate from there.

“I knew I could be walking into anything. I had no idea who the man who ‘pimped’ me was. He just helped me set up an e-mail address and placed ads on the Internet. Then the e-mails started coming in.”

She said the first man she met was a prominent KZN businessman who paid her R800 for half an hour.

“He was married and said he didn’t want to use a condom because he was allergic to latex.

“He said I was the first woman he had been with, but I found out later he had been using the services of other women too.”

She said she felt he had put her life and that of his wife at risk.

“It was total disregard and a complete lack of respect,” she said.

The woman said all her clients were either married or getting married in the new year, and all of them refused to wear condoms, whatever the sexual act was.

“All their wives think they are happily married, meanwhile these men are having unprotected sex and taking home heaven knows what.

“Women must never think they are safe. You cannot trust that you are protected by marriage any more.”

Why do married men do it?

PIETERMARITZBURG clinical psychologist Clive Willows said there was no universal answer as to why married men hire prostitutes, but it is generally for power.

“It gives the man a sense of ownership and power. It is the thought he can have anything he desires.”

Willows said it was also the lack of emotion involved in this act that was appealing to men. “They are in a place where no emotional demands are made and nothing is expected of them. There is no fear of rejection or disappointing the other person.”

Sex Workers Education and Advocacy Taskforce (Sweat) spokesperson Lesego Tlhwale said she encouraged all women in similar positions to always use condoms whilst performing sexual acts.

‘Eye candy and no touching’

IN an interview with The Witness, Kevin Dale-Green, founder of “All Natural Cleaning Services”, said the business had been running for 13 years.

“Whilst the concept was unique, unfortunately the clients really wanted a ‘sure thing’, in other words they weren’t willing to part with their money unless they were going to have sex with the service provider,” said Dale-Green.

“This was contrary to the reason why we started the service. It was supposed to be a fun unique service to basically clean your home … eye candy and no touching. We didn’t want to be an escort agency and wanted it to be an entertainment service so hence the free advertising on our FB (Facebook) page.

“Initially we only did the bookings, what the lady was prepared to offer in the way of services was between her and the client and negotiated between them in private and a fee agreed upon.

“As far as we were concerned, the booking was for a show and tease, maybe a massage, but never any sexual contact, but in desperate times with no jobs available, girls will be girls and I’m sure clients got a few extra services that we didn’t offer or condone.”

Dale-Green said that there were at least 25 women on the books and a few men.
