THE student chapter of the University of KwaZulu-Natal Pietermaritzburg Black Management Forum recently won the award for the student chapter of the year in 2010.

The prize is in recognition of the ability to develop leadership and encourage academic excellence through individual and collaborative events.

This year saw the branch hosting events such as men’s and women’s indabas; a leadership expo, and a workshop with health and beauty products manufacturer Procter and Gamble.

Nduduzo Msibi of the UKZN BMF chapter said it also worked closely with other branches such as UniZulu, Westville, Howard College, University of Johannesburg and the University of Cape Town.
