PSL, Absa make winners wait

2015-04-22 00:00

CAPE TOWN — The PSL together with league sponsors have announced logistics around the PSL trophy handover.

PSL CEO Brand de Villiers has confirmed that the Absa Premiership trophy will be handed to the champions on the last weekend of the 2014/15 PSL season — meaning likely winners Kaizer Chiefs will have to wait until Saturday, May 9 to lift the trophy.

The League also confirmed that the last two block fixtures of the PSL on Wednesday, May 6 and Saturday, May 9 will be played simultaneously.

“The PSL, in consultation with our sponsors, Absa, have decided to hand over the trophy at the last fixture of the club that will emerge as champions of the Absa Premiership on May 9,” said De Villiers.
