Parade road closure

2014-05-14 00:00

THERE will be road closures for limited periods around the Pietermaritzburg City Hall for the Umvoti Mounted Rifles 150th anniversary parade.

Today between 6 pm and 7 pm, Langalibalele Street will be closed as well as Church Street between Otto and Chief Albert Luthuli streets. This is for a rehearsal for the parade that takes place tomorrow (Thursday).

On the day of the actual parade the parking space at the back of the library will be closed for public parking. From 12 pm traffic will not be allowed into Church Street in the area from the library to the city hall, except vehicles loading and off-loading goods.

The roads around the city hall precinct, including sections of Albert Luthuli and Langalibalele, will be closed. They are expected to open at 3 pm when the parade ends.
