Park and Ride

2010-06-12 00:00

DURBAN’S park and ride volunteers are ready for the thousands of fans who will use the system for match days.

To ease congestion around the stadium precinct, fans are being encouraged to park their cars or get dropped off at these malls and take the shuttle to the match. More than 200 000 people are expected to arrive at the stadium, the beachfront and the Fan Park on match days.

The three main park and ride areas are shopping centres Gateway in Umhlanga, the Pavilion in Westville, and the new Galleria shopping centre in Amanzimtoti.

The shuttle (free on Durban match days, according to www.fifaworldcup.durban) will drop fans at the Centrum Site adjacent to the Workshop Shopping Centre in the city centre, the hub for the World Cup’s transport system.

Visit www.fifaworldcup.durban.gov.za or call the Public Transport Call Centre on 086 100 0834.
