Pastor and parents face charge

2013-06-13 00:00

THE Mzimkhulu Magistrate’s Court was packed when a local pastor and 35 parents of children who were removed from the pastor’s property made a brief appearance yesterday.

Pastor Ndumiso Jali (58) and his colleague Siphiwe Mancaba (68) are out on bail of R1 000 each, while their 35 co-accused are out on a warning. They all face charges of abuse or neglect of 62 children who were being held at an institution run by Jali and a member of the Crusaders’ Church. The matter will be back in court on August 21.
