Planned water shutdown alert

THE uMgungundlovu District Municipality (UMDM) will be conducting a planned water maintenance shutdown tomorrow.

UMDM spokesperson, Mbali Ndlovu said the work to be undertaken is part of the planned programme of maintenance and upgrade of infrastructure. “The duration of the shutdown will be undertaken from 8 am to 4 pm [duration of eight hours],” she said. The following areas will be affected: Umlaas Road, Camperdown, Lion Park, Nkanyezini and Manyavu.

Ndlovu said, “Precautionary measures have been made to ensure reservoirs are filled to capacity and are fully operational,” saying water tankers will be placed at strategic points, and consumers are urged to store and use water sparingly.”
