Quick cold front

2013-08-30 00:00

WITH the extremely hot weather we have been experiencing, it is easy to forget that spring has not yet officially begun. But it’s not yet time to pack away the woolies.

This weekend, a cold front will sweep through the province, but it will be a quick cold front that should clear up by tomorrow afternoon.

Mduduzi Mthembu from the SA Weather Service said: “We are in the last part of the winter season. This cold front is normal for the winter system, and will be the last one for the season. Temperatures are expected to be around 11 to 16° in areas like Kokstad. After this the temperature should increase rapidly as we enter spring.”

According to Mthembu, the hot weather we experienced these last couple of days is an indication of what we can expect in summer.
