Readings by Nepalese astrologer

2011-04-06 00:00

THE Shree Hanuman Sanathan Dharma Sabha Mandir told The Witness this week that it will host renowned Nepalese astrologer Acharya Umarnath Shastri Shah as part of Ramayana week.

The learned priest, whose profession is in theology, the Ramayana and astrology; will be at the temple at Lower Albersville just for the weekend to offer Ramayana discourses as well as astrology readings. Shah will conduct a Sundar Khand on Saturday April 9, at 5 pm together with resident Pundit R Roy and Khushwah Singh.

On Sunday April 10, Shah will conduct a Janam Kundli (astrology reading) from 8 am to 2 pm. To have an accurate reading, Shah requires your date and time of birth.

Satsang will be observed daily at the temple with Ramayana discourses. The main prayer will take place on April 12 — the celebration of Ram Navami, the day that warrior God Ram appeared on earth (also known as Lord Rama’s birthday) — at 6.30 pm. Supper will be provided.

Ramayana is an auspicious period during which the Hindu community observes a nine-day fast before Ramanavmi (or Ram Navami), the birthday of Lord Rama.
