Released: four copper theft accused out on R5?000 bail

FOUR men accused of copper theft made a brief appearance at the Camperdown magistrate’s court on Friday and were released on R5 000 bail.

Craig Foley of Chatsworth, Ernest Khoza (33), Bongani Mabuza (30) and Sibusiso Mathebula (27), all from Johannesburg, are charged with possession of stolen copper worth R30 000 and R33 000 in cash.

They were arrested on Thursday at Stone Ridge near Camperdown in possession of tools that could be used to cut cables.

They will be back in court on September 1.
