Residents still frustrated with municipal call centre

2013-01-16 00:00

HAYFIELDS and part of Bellevue were without electricity since Monday, but power was restored by lunchtime yesterday.

Msunduzi municipal spokesperson Brian Zuma said the outage was caused by a blowout at a mini-substation in the area.

Several residents had meanwhile urged the municipality to sort out its call centre as a matter of urgency.

They said their anger and frustration stemmed from not being able to get through to the municipality.

Earlier this week, municipal manager Mxolisi Nkosi apologised for the inadequate call centre system. He said disgruntled residents could SMS complaints to 082 806 6788, which would be forwarded to the right people to deal with the problem straightaway.
