Retief Street: Reward for stolen laptop

2013-02-26 00:00

A PIETERMARITZBURG family is offering a R1 000 reward to anyone who can help them recover a laptop stolen during a burglary.

The laptop was stolen in the early hours of Saturday morning from the family’s business, Shogun’s King of Fruit, in Retief Street.

Airtime valued at R50 000 and R3 000 cash were also taken.

Avashnee Naidoo said the laptop, which belonged to her deceased brother Shogun Chetty, has sentimental value.

“It has all his pictures and all our memories of him. His baby pictures are also there. It is the only things we have of him,” a devastated Naidoo said.

She said the laptop was passed on to her after her brother died in 2009. “My mother is very devastated and shocked. She is not doing well.” Naidoo said they now only have about three pictures of her brother.

No arrests has been made. Police spokesperson Lieutenant Joey Jeevan said detectives are investigating a case of burglary.

Anyone with information can contact the Pietermaritzburg detective services on 033 845 2424/2442.
