Rosselloty: Trial moved to February next year

2011-06-02 00:00

HILTON resident Gerald Rosselloty (40), charged with the murder of his lover, Nokwazi Ntuli, in April 2010 and rape of a six-year-old girl in 2006, will stand trial in the high court in Pietermaritzburg between February 6 and 17 next year.

Rosselloty made a brief appearance in the high court yesterday before Judge Isaac Madondo and assessors and was told of the new trial date.

His trial was postponed earlier this year when the legal aid attorney assigned to represent him, Ishi Khan, withdrew.

The state alleges that Rosselloty and Ntuli were involved in an altercation leading to her death at his simplex in Monzali Drive, Hilton, on April 16 last year.

The indictment alleges that in a bid to cover up what happened, Rossellotty set fire to the flat and burned Ntuli’s body in an isolated area. Rosselloty is in custody pending his trial.
