Rural Metro appoints Paris Dlamini as director

2012-10-10 00:00

THE successful locally-based Rural Metro has announced a move to further enhance its hold in the local and provincial government market.

The company, which is a fully-fledged fire brigade service and an internationally accredited training institution, has appointed well-known businessman Paris Dlamini as director of corporate and government relations.

“The executive had identified that this market requires considerable nurturing and it became necessary to appoint an intermediary — an individual who ensures that our vision is synchronised to that of our clients,” Rural Metro said in a statement.

It said Dlamini, who also serves as president of the Pietermaritzburg Chamber of Business, will contribute positively in growing the business of the company.

Mananging director Chris Gilbert and chairperson Tony Lightbody welcomed Dlamini to Rural Metro.

The company also noted that it is in the process of building a state-of-the-art training facility for all facets of fire rescue training and will include accommodation, lecture rooms, training props and a drill-yard. In addition, the company will soon commission a cutting edge e-learning centre at its head office in Burger Street.
