SCC finish sporting term on a high

2011-03-29 00:00

LAST week the Southcity Christian College U11 and U13 cricket sides took on Port Edward. After posting 73 runs on a difficult pitch the U13s bowled PE out for a mere 29 runs, comfortably winning by 44 runs. Man of the match was Benjamin Duggan (four overs, two runs, and five wickets). The U11s restricted PE to 81 runs thanks to Jordan Hill, who took four wickets. A valuable 20 runs from Shane Scheepers helped SCC to win the game by four wickets.

SCC’s Amy Beckett, Kerry Herbert and Brittany Watson have been selected to play in the Ugu U18 girls’ hockey team. Juanita Danker and Monique Laubscher have been selected as non-travelling reserves. Amber Lourens has been selected to play in the Ugu U16 girls’ hockey side.

With the term coming to an end the senior primary held their Summer Festival in which teams could compete against one another in various games with the focus of the day being fellowship and fun. In the foundation phase Fun-a-thon, Grade R–3s ran an obstacle course. With sponsorship in place, each lap completed by a pupil would raise money for new reading books. — Supplied.
