Santos offers Isaacs to Chiefs

2012-07-21 00:00

JOHANNESBURG — Kaizer Chiefs have confirmed Santos have offered the services of veteran player Erwin Isaacs ahead of the new season.

The 25-year-old midfielder-cum-striker has told the People’s Team he is unwilling to go down with the team to the National First Division, which has resulted in the Cape Town outfit taking the decision to put the player up for transfer

Amakhosi football manager Bobby Motaung told Football411 the Soweto club will make a decision on whether to take on the player some time next week after first consulting with Chiefs chairperson Kaizer Motaung and head coach Stuart Baxter.

“We haven’t had a discussion about Erwin Isaacs,” he said, but a meeting was to be held with Kaizer Motaung yesterday.

“If the coach wants him, then we will look into it, but at the moment what has happened is that Santos have spoken to me about the player and the only thing remaining is to consult with the coach.

“They were in camp and only arrived back on Wednesday, so we had to give the coach some time to work with the current team and he will tell us if he needs to reinforce,” Bobby Motaung stated.

Motaung confirmed the asking price for Isaacs is R3.5 million.
