Saturday SPCA fundraiser

THE Maritzburg Singers, The Golden Entertainers and the celebrated duo of John and Andrew Butler will be doing their bit to help the SPCA at a fundraising concert, Cat-a-Dogue of Song, at Cordwalles School on Saturdayat 6.30 pm for 7 pm.

Most of the songs on the programme are animal orientated. Helen Vermaak will conduct The Maritzburg Singers with songs such as Tie me Kangaroo Down Sport, The Frog Song, Bye-bye Blackbird, A Nightingale Sang, The Hippopotamus and The SPCA Ballad.

The main aim of the Golden Entertainers, who celebrate their 15th anniversary this year. is to bring quality entertainment to the less fortunate and to support charities like the SPCA. Members Sharleen McNeill, Gloria Harrison, Jean Hughes, Rose-Marie Coventry and Diane Hamilton (above) make all their own costumes.
