Sexy SA model stars in beach movie

2010-08-07 00:00

ONLY days after being crowned the FHM ’s Sexiest Woman in the World 2010, Roxy Louw received more good news — a part in the movie Blue Crush 2, which was filmed in South Africa.

Asked how the part came about, the model, surfer and now actress, who graces the cover and pages of the September issue of FHM, says: “I was lucky enough to have met Lorin Barnes through her surfer boyfriend, Royden Bryson.

“She called me up at random and asked whether I would be interested in auditioning, and voila! I did a screen test a month before I even knew that they were interested in me for the part. And then, less than a week after being crowned FHM’s Sexiest Woman in the World 2010, I got that awesome confirmation call.”

Blue Crush 2 is based on 2002’s hugely popular Blue Crush. Louw plays Acapulco Goldie, a young woman who adopts American surfer girl Dana (Sasha Jackson) and together they travel from Durban to Jeffrey’s Bay in search of the perfect wave.

Although Louw (23) is used to being in front of the cameras, she admits to not having much acting experience.“The director Mike Elliott was amazing. He directed us through every take.”
